KGK Clinical Trial Centers in London is pleased to offer you the opportunity to participate in our research program focused on supporting endurance athletes completing a marathon or triathlon event in 2019 by studying rest, recovery and immune function using a
Over 50% of marathon athletes report experiencing an increase in nasal congestion and respiratory cold symptoms both before and after their recent marathon event (KGK Science, 2018). These symptoms can result in decreased performance and negatively impact both your training and marathon time.
To maintain healthy immunity, athletes should consume a well-balanced diet that meets their requirements for energy, carbohydrate, protein and micronutrients. An adequate intake of amino acids, β-glucans and some essential minerals including iron and zinc and the vitamins A, D, E, B6 and B12 are important to maintain a healthy immune function.
Prolonged endurance activities like running may cause a disruption in your immune system and beta-glucan may help provide benefits such as high levels of vitamin C, vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, and numerous anti-oxidants
Ideal Participants Will Be:
• Women & Men Ages 21 to 65
• Interested in achieving their peak performance
• Who are currently registered, or interested in registering, for a full marathon
• BMI 18 – 35 kg/m2
• Available for 4 visits over 42 days of supplementation
Qualified participants will receive up to $600 for their participation in this study.
All participants are monitored by Medical Physicians and services are provided at no cost to participants.
