August 28, 2020 – A recent clinical trial conducted by KGK Science has found evidence to support a natural health product, Relieve-R (formerly Pain Bloc-R), having the ability to provide occasional pain relief and reduce inflammation in healthy adults. The 7-day, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study, sponsored by LifeSeasons Inc., demonstrated statistical significance to reduce occasional aches and discomfort in twenty-seven healthy adults, ages 22-63, resulting in significant reductions in pain severity and musculoskeletal discomfort.

Relieve-R is a natural health product developed by LifeSeasons, composed of vitamins B6, B12, D, white willow bark extract, Angelica root extract, acetyl L-carnitine HCl, caffeine, L-theanine, Benfotiamine, and L-tetrahydropalmatine, designed to ease discomfort by reducing inflammation, regulating hormones, and modulating neurotransmitters to promote muscle relaxation.
“Currently, there have been no studies investigating the pain-alleviating effects of a formula with a composition similar to Relieve-R,” says Dr. Mal Evans, Chief Scientific Officer at KGK Science. “However, the active dietary ingredients in Relieve-R seem to target multiple pain pathways and mechanisms. This is certainly an exciting finding as healthy participants reported clinically meaningful reductions in their average pain and pain severity over placebo.”
The study consisted of three, 7-day supplementation periods with Relieve-R, a positive control comparator, and placebo respectively, each separated by a 7-day washout period. Participants on Relieve-R experienced 16% greater relief of their average pain than those on placebo. Overall, participants reported significant reductions of 21.8% in pain severity and 34.1% in musculoskeletal discomfort, suggesting the potential role of Relieve-R as a safe and effective natural alternative to managing occasional aches and discomfort.
