KGK Science Joins the Natural Products Association as a New Board Member

“The Time is Right for Us to Be a Leader at the Table in Those Board Discussions”

London, ON – As part of the growth and outreach in the natural product space on a wide range of issues, including their lead on cannabidiol, KGK Science announced today that it has joined the Board of the Natural Products Association (NPA). Najla Guthrie, KGK Sciences' President and CEO, will serve as a Director.

KGK Science has served many of North America’s leading nutraceutical, natural health product and finished packaged goods companies such as Kraft Foods, Sanofi, Nature’s Bounty, and NuSkin. KGK works with clients to substantiate claims for products by conducting randomized clinical trials while also providing other research services, including study recruitment, regulatory compliance support, research consulting, safety dossiers to North American agencies (including studies for new dietary ingredients submitted to the Food and Drug Administration), and clinical trial design. In addition to their footprint in the health and wellness space for nutraceuticals and personal care products, KGK Science has recently expanded their reach to include cannabinoid and product research.

“KGK Science has been an NPA member for six years, but the time is right for us to be a leader at the table in those board discussions to drive a regulatory pathway for cannabidiol (CBD) and other nutraceuticals forward,” said Najla Guthrie, President and CEO of KGK Science. “KGK Science will be the first Contract Research Organization on the NPA Board, but we are more than a CRO. KGK Science is the leader in designing testing protocols and providing regulatory solutions to facilitate the explosion of science behind CBDs and their safety in North America. Consumers want to know more about the science behind claims made on products. We provide a valuable service for the natural products industry and increase consumer confidence behind those claims. KGK Science is in the business of providing substantiation for the claims made on CBDs, nutraceuticals, and other dietary ingredients in consumer products and confidence that they are safe for consumers,” added Ms. Guthrie.

KGK Science joins the Board of the venerable NPA, an advocacy, science, and regulatory organization and the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and natural products industry in the U.S. Founded in 1936, NPA represents over 1,000 members accounting for more than 10,000 retail, manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution locations of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health/beauty aids. NPA unites a diverse membership, from the smallest health food store to the largest dietary supplement manufacturer. NPA serves as the industry watchdog on federal, state and local governments.
